The growing demand for increasingly customized, flexible decorations now has a concrete answer in Tapematic’s new S8+4 sputtering metallization module. For over 50 years, the Lombardy-based company has been offering advanced technologies to increase efficiency and production quality while respecting the environment.

The S8+4 module is an innovative system consisting of two independent sputtering chambers, capable of depositing films of different metals in a single process. An avant-garde solution that multiplies creative possibilities in the field of cosmetic packaging decoration, opening the doors to endless color combinations and limitless customization.

“S8+4 was created to meet very defined needs, such as decorating packaging made with different metals or creating transparent areas alongside metallized and non-metallized surfaces,” explains Antonio Scotti, Tapematic VP Sales. “Available as a stand-alone unit or integrable with existing coating machinery, the system allows for an increase in both productivity and variability of in-line finishes. In addition, the dual sputtering chamber also makes it possible to work with conductive materials or materials with high mechanical resistance, expanding prospective applications toward strategic sectors such as automotive and pharmaceuticals. A perfect balance between creativity and productivity, aligned with the needs of the modern-day market.”

The S8+4 module guarantees top-level industrial performance: in fact, its production capacity exceeds 10,000 pieces per hour, making the S8+4 the ideal solution for large volumes and to deliver consistently high quality standards over time.

“Being able to offer our clients fully customizable packaging, high productivity, and low environmental impact is what motivated Tapematic’s R&D team to develop the S8+4 metallizer, as such meeting the needs of the industry that have now become non-negotiable,” continues Scotti. “S8+4 is tangible proof of how technology can become a true competitive advantage.”

At the very foundation of the new module, set to make its debut at K 2025, the leading international trade fair for plastics and rubber taking place in Düsseldorf from October 8th to 15th, are Tapematic’s years of know-how. Decades of experience in designing highly automated and customizable lines ensure quality, energy efficiency, waste reduction, and time-to-market speed: all key elements for a cosmetics industry that is moving increasingly toward efficiency, sustainability, and innovation.

Tapematic is looking to the future with a 5.0 approach and hence the S8+4 will also be available in solutions integrated with the Industry 5.0 ecosystem, enabling predictive and smart management of the entire production line.
